Frigidaire makes gas and electric dryers with a variety of features, such as energy-saver functions and steam settings for removing wrinkles. If your dryer doesn't heat properly, though, you're going to wind up with wet clothes and linens no matter what extra features it has. Troubleshoot to see if your dryer's experiencing one of the basic problems that cause a Frigidaire dryer to not blow hot air. Some issues require professional service to get your appliance back up and running.

Fuse Issue

Your dryer may not heat if there is an issue with its power supply. There are usually two household fuses or circuit breakers in an electric dryer’s circuit. If one blows, the dryer may be able to tumble without heating. Check your home’s fuse box or circuit breaker and replace the blown fuse or reset the breaker as necessary. If there isn’t an issue with the fuse box or circuit breaker, your dryer may not have been wired with the appropriate voltage. Frigidaire electric dryers require 240 volts; gas models require 120 volts. If yours is operating at a lower-than-recommended voltage, it may not heat properly. Contact an electrician to address the issue.

Gas Supply Issue

If you have a gas model, your dryer may not heat if there is a problem with its gas supply. Ensure that the gas shutoff valve is open so gas can flow to the appliance. The valve is located at the back of the appliance near the gas inlet pipe. You can tell that the valve is open if it is parallel or inline with the pipe. If it is perpendicular to the pipe, the gas supply to the dryer is off. Turn the valve to open it, and allow a few minutes so the gas has time to move through the line, before turning on your dryer. If the valve is open, your natural gas service may be interrupted. Contact your utility company to arrange for service. Once your service is restored, your dryer should heat again. If your gas comes from an LP gas tank, ensure it's not empty; replace it if necessary.

Temperature Selection

Your dryer may not appear to heat if you haven't selected the proper temperature. Frigidaire dryers have a low-heat setting that is designed for delicate fabrics and won't generate sufficient heat for heavier fabrics like denim; some have no-heat air-dry functions for items that contain feathers, foam rubber, plastics or other rubberlike materials, or for simply refreshing any item. If you accidentally select the air-dry setting, your dryer won't heat. To adjust a cycle's temperature for proper heating, turn the temperature setting knob to medium or high.

Randall,
Before I tell you EVERYTHING to look at, I'll send you to the most common thing. Unplug the dryer. Remove the back panel. On the blower housing, there is a little white plastic thing, called a thermal fuse. It has 2 wires coming from the ends. Check that for continuity. If not, then replace. Check the venting after replacement. If that is ok, then write back, and we'll go through the whole dryer. I hope this helps! :)
