Gas powered RC Boats
Large gas-powered boats are one of the most fun aspects of the radio-controlled hobby. They're loud, they're fast, they exude raw power just sitting on the dock. Even after seven years of racing them, I still get giddy every time I fire up an engine and see a five- foot roostertail trailing off behind a cat running 50mph. But the downside to getting into the big boats can sometimes be just getting started. Not too long ago, RTR gas boats were still custom machines assembled with separate components; the hulls were available bare or fully assembled for a steep price by only a few select vendors. Luckily, a new market emerged for fully assembled RTR gas boats, starting at around $1000 and down. Some of the big hobby distributors and developers got in on the game, and the affordable RTR gas race boat was born.
Here's a list of a few ready-to-run gas-powered boats that are currently available, in no particular order.
